Abstrak
Kegiatan bongkar muat batubara di Kalimantan Selatan dipusatkan di kawasan labuh Taboneo sebagai area Ship to Ship (STS) Transfer. Kapal tipe Gearless Vessel yang berkapasitas besar tidak memiliki crane sehingga membutuhkan floating equipment sebagai solusi operasional utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji jenis, fungsi, dan kontribusi floating equipment terhadap produktivitas bongkar muat batubara di area STS Transfer Taboneo. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dan observasi operasional lapangan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa floating crane dan floating conveyor merupakan jenis utama yang beroperasi, dengan kapabilitas tambahan berupa floating storage, blending batubara multi-sumber, dan sistem metal detection. Pemanfaatan floating equipment secara optimal terbukti meningkatkan throughput 2–3 kali dibanding metode konvensional, menekan biaya demurrage 40–60%, serta mendukung efisiensi logistik maritim dan kelancaran rantai ekspor batubara dari Kalimantan Selatan ke pasar internasional.

Abstract
Coal loading and unloading activities in South Kalimantan are centered at Taboneo anchorage, known as the Ship to Ship (STS) Transfer area. Gearless Vessels, which have higher cargo capacity due to the absence of onboard cranes, require floating equipment as the primary operational solution. This study aims to examine the types, functions, and contributions of floating equipment to coal cargo handling productivity at the Taboneo STS Transfer area. The research employs literature review and field operational observation methods. Results indicate that floating cranes and floating conveyors are the primary equipment types deployed, with additional capabilities including floating storage, multi-source coal blending, and metal detection systems. Optimal utilization of floating equipment has been demonstrated to increase throughput by 2–3 times compared to conventional methods, reduce demurrage costs by 40–60%, and support maritime logistics efficiency throughout the coal export supply chain from South Kalimantan to international markets.
